An emerging artist and student at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, I am in my fourth year working towards a double major in Honours Studio Art and Honours History.
My artwork investigates the relationship between digital documentation and the created image. Referring to optics, theories of perception and the uncanny, my work deals with the displacement of the original image, replaced by the unfamiliar, but familiar experience.
I use various mediums to experiment how these elements maintain a connection to reality and familiarity while being manipulated physically and digitally. Through printmaking, painting, sculpture and digital methods, the imagery that I use consists of unnatural perspectives and reflective effects, which are applied to imagery of the urban lifestyle and landscape.
